Merry Christmas
I think Santa has the right idea, work one day a year, and vacation the rest! Here's hoping everyone has a safe and laid-back holiday. Merry Christmas everyone!

This Old House...
Sorry about the lack of content for the past month. My wife and I recently decided to renovate and move into my grandparents old place, so I've been quite busy. Between work, fixing the house up (and trust me, it required quite a bit of fixing up), packing our stuff up, moving it all, and now trying to unpack it, I've barely had time to breathe. Not to mention that I didn't even have internet there for a while until they came and hooked up the tv and phones and everything. But, things seem to finally slowing back down to about normal, now it's just all the unpacking. The thing about a hurried move is that shit gets packed everywhere instead of nice, neat little labeled boxes that make everything easy to find. I still haven't found where all my silverware's at (think God for plastic forks!)
Even though it's been quite an ordeal trying to get the old place livable again and get moved into it, I'm glad we did it. After my Grandfather died, my mom and aunt started discussing selling the place, as it was getting to be too much financially to try and keep it up along with the rest of the property too. Well, my wife and I discussed it, and we hated to see it pass out of the family. It's a beautiful old house, solid as a rock, that's stood on the property longer than any of the other homes here, and will probably be here long after they're gone. So, after thinking about it for a while, we went and talked to my mom and aunt and worked out a deal for the place instead of seeing some strangers buy it. So now it's ours and it's coming along nicely. There's stil a few more things I'd like to do as money becomes available (like add a half-bath directly off the master bedroom. The place only has one bathroom, and it's way on the backside of the house!) but it's nice to know that the old family place will stay in the family and hopefully hold many more generations.
